Song of the Day: Play On by Paloma Faith
We all know Paloma Faith is amazing, it’s no lie and all of you in the States better keep an ear out because I believe she’s on her way to spread her awesomeness there.
Anyway, onto the song. Faith has a plethora of fantastic songs at her disposal from New York to Upside Down, Picking up the Pieces to 30 Minute Love Affair, but I believe that Play On belongs on top of that pile.
It’s a wonderful display of her vocal talent and lyrical musings. She is a strong solo female artist and perhaps one of the most down to earth people in the business. Not only is she fantastic recorded but she is phenomenal live.
If you don’t believe me just listen to it, it’s so full of drama and atmosphere with the choir and the almost orchestral background. Then there is Faith’s almost moody performance, it makes amazing listening. It’s such a haunting melody and so typically Paloma Faith that I have made it live up to its name. It has played on and on and on and on and on and is perhaps the most played Paloma Faith song on my iPod.
Her album, Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful was the first album I put onto my iPod and this song must have been played a million times within th first week.
If you’ve never listened to her music before then I think this is the perfect starting point.
